Snow, Big Chill

...
Our winter event is closing in on the Mid-South. Besides cold, we'll be dry until late Wednesday. The majority of the 1-3" of snow should fall overnight, (Midnight-6am Thursday) with another inch possible during the day. You may have heard about the "Winter Storm Watch," remember it goes into effect Wednesday night.

The ARCTIC Express is still on its way, and by midday Thursday, GUSTING Northwest winds (15-30 mph) will bring the coldest air of the season to the region. Overnight lows will fall to between 5 and 10 degrees by Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning. This is brutal folks.

I sure hope you are taking advantage of the tranquil weather today and tomorrow to prepare for this potential "winter weather event." Grocery stores were getting busy, but not slammed yesterday, don't wait til the last minute. AND, top off that tank with gas.

If you need assistance, or know someone who does:

Families with women and children in need of shelter
should call the Homeless Hotline at 260-4663.

Men are to go to Memphis Union Mission Men's Emergency
shelter at 383 Poplar.

There will be no charge for people needing shelter.

Know, that we are not alone when it comes to the bitter cold.

DAYBREAK TRIVIA: Could you figure out which famous bridge we showed you? and, infamous traitor, burning Richmond.

Some sad, crazy news out of NYC. And, I just bought Q-tips last night. How wierd.

This is for Joel, our director, even though I doubt he reads this blog. Our resident Skype expert

Interesting and worthy read about science and nutrition.

Why the change? I'm not complaining, just confused that's all.

We don't get to enjoy stories like this very often. That's why I'm sharing.
