Are you ready?

...
It's the question I've been asking you all week long.
"Are you ready?" With the

impending snow and cold over the next 4-5 days, today is really your last shot of

preparing for the wrath of Mother Nature.

My #1 concern is the cold.

Elderly neighbors, pets, pipes, plants, AND your vehicle.
(Someone to watch the kids, in case their school closes because of the weather?)

You've got to get it done today, it will not be fun over the next several days outside.

If you need assistance, or know someone who does:

Families with women and children in need of shelter
should call the Homeless Hotline at 260-4663.

Men are to go to Memphis Union Mission Men's Emergency
shelter at 383 Poplar.

There will be no charge for people needing shelter.

Let's break it down for you:

Today: Southerly winds and sunshine will warm us into the mid 30's.

Tonight: Clouds return as temperatures fall into the mid and upper 20's.

OVERNIGHT... our "Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect. Between Midnight and 9am, Thursday, up to an inch of snow. Temperatures will hold in between 25-30 degrees.

Thursday morning, (beginning around 9am) GUSTING northwest winds (we're talking 15-30 mph) will announce the arrival of that very cold air we've been talking about. These winds will be strongest from 9am to 1pm, most of the snow ending by noon, flurries will linger through the afternoon.

Temperatures will fall quickly, near 20 for the drive home Thursday, and between 5-10 degrees by daybreak Friday and Saturday morning.

This cold air will stay in place through the weekend, which means...

Anything frozen on the ground tomorrow afternoon, will likely linger into the weekend. The "7-day" forecast really gives you a closer look at the numbers. But with highs in the 20's, and lows between 5-10, that's serious cold.

In the news... Mr and Mrs #48 are about to have a little #48.

Also in sports... how did the "Grizzlies" do last night, are they "HOT" or not. and who is next for the "Tigers" on the B-ball floor? Nationally ranked, and on TV.

If given the chance, would you try this? "Throwback Drink?"
